I wanted to find the right story to write that goes with this song, as my reason for posting this song. Unfortunately nothing came to mind, and now I have exposed my true motives. For something so pervasive as love and love lost, one can feel so lonely when it (both love and love lost) happens. You feel like the luckest person in the world when you have it, and utterly languished when its gone. So music bring me back [...]
The question of the hour.
If I posed this question to many, most would choose the later.
But the irony is that most people don’t know what religion really is. How many people have actually read a spiritual text in it’s entirety or actually studied many different passages, and came to their own understanding of the verses, outside of another’s interpretation. How many people can really define what faith, love, truth and righteousness really are based on the definitions contained in the [...]
It is quite disheartening when I think of the silly things that I do when I first meet/experience someone/something that I take a special liking to. The prospect of love is a powerful incentive. This can be a new friend, a new “potential” beau, or even a new job. I can’t speak for men, or ever all women, but I know there are times when I’m extremely inconvenienced but I try to play it cool. “Oh no, it’s no problem, [...]
Dear Lord,
I humbly come before you with a heart fill with thanksgiving. Thank you for another day. You did not withhold another sun rise because of the many mistakes I made yesterday, nor did you withhold another breath from my lungs when I didn’t speak in love to my friends, coworkers, and parents. You have been good to me, even when I didn’t deserve it. And not only did you wake me up, but I have my health, I have [...]
Time to kick back and relax. I can’t explain why, but summer always makes me feel good. I love not having to stay up to do classwork, being able to roam the city without a jacket, not rushing to anywhere in particular on the weekends, and of course, I love summer luv (or at least the hope).
The dead horse has been kicked one more time. I was reading an article about “why can’t a successful black women find a man” and I think this article really hit the nail on the head. Here are five points from the article: (Click here for the full article.)
Below is the text of the article in part:
1. It Takes Two to Tango. This ”epidemic” is not about black women. If black women are single and looking for love, then guess [...]
I came across this story on Concreteloop.com:
Meet Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher of North Carolina. They have been married 85 years (86 in May) and hold the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the longest marriage of a living couple and get this…. Zelmyra is 101 years old and Herbert is 104.
The happily married couple TEAMED UP WITH TWITTER THIS VALENTINE’S DAY to answer some relationship questions. Check out their take on finding love, getting through hard times and more. Good read.
1. What [...]
“Who is my judge?” “God is my judge.” “Why is God your judge?” “He decides whether I win or lose.” “And who are your opponents?” “I have no opponents … merely dissenting voices to the truth I speak.”
I just watched Great Debaters tonight, and fell in love with that movie. I was particularly impressed with the oratory skills of the young woman in the film. Me, being a female Howard Law School student, could bare [...]
I love love love the snow, of course when I’m inside a warm home. All day I have been searching through my music files and rediscovering some gems. I love this tune, Samba de una nota, and it always sounds good by any musician in any arrangement. If you listen you can hear that there is one note that the musician is playing and building the chords around. Here is a guitarist that is killing it – so gentle.
